do you know where I could find the schematics to this like the wiring diagram/pnumatic diagram/how to assemble it. when it comes to learning having physical documentation to mark up really would help
You can find them in the Festo curriculum. I talk about how I wired mine in this video. ruclips.net/video/eqwZvAop6L0/видео.html
Thank Tim, for a good presentation, I am somewhat puzzled by the apparent dissimilarity between the content and the title of this video. The title says "Do Motion with the Micro820 PTO Pulse Train Output Instruction", but the content shows a PWM instruction rather than a PTO instruction. Am I missing something here? Thank you again for a good video. Fethi Lakhdari.
It has to do with the more common question. People usually ask, what can you do with the Micro820s PTO output since they saw it in the specifications They don't yet know what a PWM is. Also, when people think PWM, they usually think some type of motion control such as step and direction. The Micro820 can't do that. Here's a video on the Micro850's PWM being used for motion control. ruclips.net/video/rMVIuYhvr9g/видео.html
hi new subscriber here.. . just want to ask what does "no safety signature" mean on Allen bradley PLC
That means someone didn't complete the safety checklist
@@TimWilborne Thanks for the quick reply.. So how to fix that?
What should i do next.?. im using 5069-l320erms3 controller.. Thanks in advance
The answer to that's way too complicated for a RUclips comment. You need to look at one of the safety certifications such as TUV Rhineland.
Tim- DNP3 on the micro 870 has a store and forward capability. I was reading somewhere that the OPCUA, like what rolled out with the v36 studio in the 5380 and 5580 controller can native standup opcua server and client. and this article indicated it had store and forward capabilities. have you messed with this?
I have read about it about but haven't played with it yet
Good morning Tim, would you like to teach how to configure the ADC mode on the E-300 Relay. ?
No, I've never played with the ADC on it.
It doesn't change anything in terms of IEC 61131-3, I can't think of an easier conversion than changing the mnemonic to be compatible with the norm. If Rockwell wants to be compatible with IEC 61131-3, it should redesign the project structure and instructions implementations like TIMER or COUNTER.
They are making steps in the right direction. Some users are very upset about the changes, others welcome them.
Hi, do you have any videos on AB E300 ( ethernet) setting up the inputs and relays?
No, I should pick one up sometime. I have worked with them before, very handy for monitoring
@@TimWilborne yes they are. I know the devicenet module with emulate mode,But Ethernet mode, different.
Well. I am interested. Good videos you have.
Glad you like them!
HOw do i make a safety shutdown
Lots of variables to consider. I would look into something such as the TUV Rhineland safety certification
you're the best please we need extra applications for siemens PLC
We're working on building out a Siemens plus programming series
I absolutely love your videos. I’ve learned so much from them and the encoder simulator is awesome. The only thing I would add is how to configure additional HSC’s…. That stuff is a little difficult to interpret. I was able to incorporate two HSC’s into my project from what I learned. Thank you!
Yes, I wish the HSC was more intuitive. The issue is that it can be configured for so many different uses that it causes confusion.
How can I join that classroom sir?
You can learn more at the following link twcontrols.com/plc-lab
Unrelated ,but does anyone have any strong methods/techniques for diagnosing machines that use structured text programming for the plc ? Any resources for diagnosing machines using structured text code ? Thanks
I have been working on improving my structured text skills and should do some videos on it. The biggest thing that people don't realize is what the set of eyeglasses do at the right end of the online bar. They give you current values of the tags in your program.
@@TimWilborneyes I wasn’t aware pf that function . Until once I accidentally clicked on it while searching for an alarm active

Tim, I need help! Trying to connect to a MicroLogix 1100, which I’ve many many times. The IP is 10.218.120.9 I’ve tried Ethernet Ip and Ethernet drivers. Set my computer to manual and Ethernet to 10.218.120. 20 When I configure drivers and choose my Ethernet adapter is doesn’t show the IP address, it shows unknown ? I can’t connect to the 1100 and it won’t ping either. I am using windows 11 I’m lost any suggestions Thanks Doug

Newish to programming so it had be baffled for a while as to why the yellow light stayed on even though the output bit on the same rung was not green. Then I remembered your previous video about the scan process from top to bottom. Even though the output bit in rung 0 is not green, it does in fact have a 1 in it during that time in the scan. Therefore making the output bit in rung 1 also having a 1, creating a true state on that rung. The green "true" on the bits can be deceiving. Thanks for the videos, have helped a lot in transitioning from maintenance into automation and programming.
That is great to hear. Check out this one I did the other week where I accidentally added a duplicate destructive bit. ruclips.net/video/tyAlwZ6CRY8/видео.html

How do you connect voltage controller to servo ? which 2 pins ?
It must be nice to have access to plc program. Working 2nd shift most of the time we don't have access to that. So I always ask the operator what is it not doing, than go to what ever makes it do what ever it was supposed to do. And work back from there.
Yes, sometimes you have to work with what you have. Hopefully they'll get some of your 2nd shift folks some PLC training
Will you be offering a Kinetix trainer?
We have made a handful of them but have not decided to make a standard product yet. Send an inquiry in and we'll see if it is a fit for you. twcontrols.com/contact
great ! Thank you sir

Thank you Sir. Your videos are awesome.
You are welcome
I do want to see
👍
I don't see the download link the site is very old
Still works fine
What is the benefit of it? Is it only used to connect two ends of a wire or does it have another benefit?
Ultimately that is the primary purpose but there can be many added benefits along the way. The biggest one being time savings.
This is the best method and the only method that should be used!!!!
I am so lost... why if number.1 and if number.2? Why not just if number.1? And why is the not number.3 added to each one?
It is the programmer's preference. You'll see all of them out in the field.
Hi Tim, At the 4:45-4:50 mark, you mention how the PLC scan still evaluates input6. I’ve asked the same question during a very advanced Rockwell Training Class with a certified Rockwell instructor who said that it does not get evaluated in order to decrease program scan rate times. Is there any sort of official documentation from Rockwell that you could link stating explicitly that the input6 still gets evaluated?
It evaluates it every time. Look at the text view of the ladder and you can see the exact order.
@@TimWilborneis there any documentation that explicitly states that it evaluates every instruction? The ascii text representation of the rung is just another representation of the same rung in ladder. If I had a link to documentation, I’d have something to physically show people when they doubt whether the instruction gets evaluated or if it skips along to writing to the OTE bit location.
Yes it is in many of the software and processor manuals. I'm not near a computer for the rest of the month so can't site a specific link
Awesome
Thanks!
Your tips are incredible, I learned a lot of things in this video, thank you very much.
Happy to hear that!

I would not do this, i am correcting what i said below. I have seen this done many times and it works most of the time and then it doesn't. It introduces a bug. I just corrected a long standing problem in one of our programs due to another tech using a duplicate bit. I was warned about this in school to never do this!
I would duplicate an output like that, i have seen this done many times by people who say it is fine and what it does is inserts a bug into your program.
can someone tell us the reason behind using a 7 and 10 in the array. what determines the numbers used when creating a dimensional array.
It is determined by the sauce of data you need to store. It can be larger but not smaller.
Thank you for the great explanation. Coming from a computer programming background where nothing happens if the trigger to a command is false, I had a hard time dealing with multiple commands controlling an output. To me, if the input to a rung was false, I expected the output to be untouched, but as you mentioned in the video, if the input is false, the controller will explicitly write a zero to the output.
I'm glad it was helpful
